SCOTT GRANT

PRESIDENT

Scott Grant started his career as a patrolman for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and shorty into his career transferred to the Pleasant Hill Police Department. Throughout his tenure at the Police Department, he held several positions and left from the force as a Detective.

Following his career in law enforcement, Scott devoted his time to his true passion, home building. Since then, Scott has built a company and reputation widely recognized for integrity, quality, and honesty. In addition, Scott has been a licensed real estate agent since 2005.

Scott and his wife, Mindy, have been married since 2007. They stay busy with their 12 year old son, Corbin, not to mention maintaining the family business day in and day out.

MICHAEL BURNS

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Originally from New Jersey, Michael graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelors in Business Administration & Management. Following college, Michael rose to be the General Manager of a Nationwide Manufacturing Company located near Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon relocating to the mid-west, Michael assisted with the startup and creation of a successful Property Management company.

Today, Michael oversees the day to day operations of each new construction project along with all business operations within GCH. As the main point of contact for all sub contractors and head of quality control, Michael develops and executes each job production schedule from start to finish.

LAURA O’BRIEN

ACCOUNTANT

Over the last 15 years, Laura has held various accounting positions. She began in positions early on as Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable. Her experience along with coursework has led her into higher levels of roles and responsibilities in accounting functions.

Prior to Grant’s Custom Homes, Laura worked for HNTB as a financial analyst mostly supporting a billion-dollar railway construction project. She then moved into a Staff Accountant role handling all financial processing and reporting for 10 Multi-Family properties as well as a Staff Accountant position for a non-profit fraternity organization. She is currently in the process of completing her bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Laura moved to Kansas City in 2002 from San Diego. She has a 23 yr old son who is currently serving in the Air Force and stationed in England. Her younger son is 14 and going to start high school this year. At home the bosses are the 14 yr old and her 2 yr old mini-Aussie.

AMBER DOUMITT

Director of Sales and Development

Amber Doumitt is our Director of Sales and Development for Grants Custom Homes. Amber began her journey with Grants Custom Homes in January of 2019. She started her career in sales in 2005 in the multifamily industry, holding various leadership positions, until officially exiting the industry in 2019. Amber oversees our sales and marketing divisions, as well as our business development relationships to further grow GCH as a Truly Custom Home Builder. Her true passion is providing an experience to our clients/business partners that is heartfelt, honest and the goal to become lifelong friends. During the pandemic, Amber saw a need in our immediate community of Pleasant Hill and created our charity Grants Cares which assists our community in time of need.
